You need a professional to handle all your introductions at your wedding reception. All your music sets need to be all complete and ready to play. I always sit down with my brides and go over all the music and introductions. No event is ever perfect but we try to get as close  as we can. A good entertainer will always keep you events flowing smoothly and the music going. Be sure to ask your wedding entertainer "what if" questions. There will always be at least one change of plans at every event.

Have you ever thought about what would happen if your wedding entertainment company had a breakdown with some of the equipment?
You never know when this will happen. The key is to ask your entertainer about what type of back up gear he will bring to your event. All the professional entertainers I know and recommend have at least two full sets of equipment for every job. We are in a digital age where all the gear we use today is very small and easy to carry around and switch to in case of a breakdown. Always verify that the DJ you select for your event will have access to this extra gear if needed.

When choosing your wedding location, have you given a thought about the distance it is from your home town? You  may have found a great place  to say I do but will your family say we will drive two hours away. Some older adults and grandparents will not be able to drive that far or even at night. The best thing is to know your own family and friends and make arrangements for your guest who are unable to drive very far. Every hotel that host wedding receptions should be able to give you a group discount. Always ask when you are booking a event.

Now that thousands of brides are using the web to help them search for all their wedding needs, is there more to learn about the internet? Two years ago it was blogs podcast and RSS feeds. Did brides really take the time to understand it? I have had my wedding podcast since 2006. Brides and Grooms are just thinking about using blogs and podcast and them...........wham!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here come facebook!!!!!!! information, pictures and audio right in one place. Tons of brides have found me and listen to my show right on Facebook. Should we forget about RSS feeds and blogs? Not so fast. Facebook maybe the flavor of the year but who knows how long it will last. Your best bet is just to realize where the information on Facebook is coming from. Is it a blog or a podcast? is it just a news article? Maybe just some information from a friend. Just fallow the link and see if there is another way to get the information about what your interested in. Search in google for wedding podcast or wedding DJ podcast or DJ podcast to find where these links are going. If you see any great results under wedding podcast, let me know.

Do you have the order of events all set? Your wedding entertainer needs all the your information so he get all your songs and events in the correct order. How about songs for your parents? Are your parents divorced and married to other people now? Will they walk down the isle together? Are they walking down or being introduced with their new spouse? Come listen to the show so we can talk about these special events.

As I mentioned on the last podcast, Tommy's Burgers has a shack on wheels that can feed your wedding guest. This would be perfect for that beach or home wedding. It offers a big change from the In-N-Out truck. The shack on wheels serves it's world famous fries!!  I would think they could bring tons of napkins to stop the chili from spilling on your wedding dress. How about this for the rehearsal dinner. We all love Tommy's, so add to your list of things to consider.

Has the internet changed the way you shop for your wedding entertainment? Do you search in google or facebook?  How about Crieg's list?  Do these places work? How much can you tell about your wedding entertainer by just texting or going back and forth with email. These are great places to start your search, but if you really want to get to know your entertainer you should give him a call or set up a appointment.   I think maybe brides and grooms are just to busy to meet and interview DJ'S. That's a big mistake. You can learn so much during your interview with him.  You can even see his personality and tell if he is a good fit for you and your guest. These are just some of the things that you can't see online. Spend some time with us and listen to the show.  We are still the only weekly  wedding entertainment podcast in the nation.

On today's show we spoke with Michael  of Michael C Events.  I met Michael at a wedding event mixer in Northridge ca.  I was expecting  some small little fingers foods with a little chip and dip on the side. Boy was I  wrong about  I was going to eat. The food was sample size, but it was some of the best food  I have ever tasted!  This is definitely not  your standard wedding food that always is served  at these type of events. This is your one chance to make a great meal stand out. If you want to have a great meal at your event, give Michael C Events a try.

Since it was Sunday, I thought I would bring something up that most brides don't know. If your future husband is a big football fan, be aware this year's big game is  February 7th 2110.  I know this is a Sunday, but this will be on the weekend of your honeymoon if you get married on the 6th.  Now remember this is just the "big" game.  Four weeks before that date there are the playoffs. Those dates are not even posted on NFL.com yet.  That's a really a  big deal for the not so big fan who likes any kind of sports. The fun of it all will suck them into these games.  Some of these games are played on Saturday and Sunday back to back!!!!!!  I just thought you should know before you pick your wedding date.

Remember, we are the only weekly wedding DJ podcast in US.  Scroll down the page and listen to a few shows and have some fun.

I have done many special  dances for grand entrances to announce the bride and groom.  They always seem to be  accepted and fun for all your guest.  How about this trip down the isle at your church? Would your family approve? How about your grandparents? It's your wedding day and you have a choice but will it seem right at your church?  Watch the video and let's talk about it next weeks show.  Feel free to drop me a email with your thoughts.

We spoke with Jeff Roy of visioneer studios about  what's going on in the video world.  So much has changed in just a few years.  Will you be watching your video on your ipod? Will you get your master tapes from the video company?  Do your really need to have your wedding shot in HD.  Come listen to the show as Jeff explains all the details of the new technology in wedding videography.  As a entertainer I know how important it is to make sure your guest have a great time at your wedding.  When selecting your video service, you need a professional who knows how to be at the right place at the right time and not be in the way of the actionAll your vendors work together as a team to capture all your special moments.  Call Jeff and have him explain what he can do for you.  Be sure to visit the visioneer  website at www.visioneerstudios.com

Still thinking of having your wedding at your home?  How about if you could find a place that was already set up for a wedding?  There are tons of advantages to having a wedding at a house.  If the house is professionally decorated, you don't even have to add anything at all.   The home could have a pool and a gazebo for your wedding guest.  On the downside,  will there be enough bathrooms and handicap access for older adults.  Come and listen to the show and here all the good and bad of a home wedding

Let's finish and close the door on Michael Jackson.  We had some events that Martin played that totally turned into a tribute to M.J.  His other event that was a wedding used a normal song set with a few tunes from the one glove wonder.  All weddings have different song sets that the bride and groom request when they meet with their entertainer.  Your DJ will use your songs and mix them into some of  his tried and true sets that really get your guest going.  This is our one goal.  To make sure all your guest have a great time.

Be sure to listen to the show and hear some new music for your wedding.  We are still the only weekly wedding entertainment podcast  in the US for brides and grooms to hear your wedding entertainment ideas.

Will your wedding turn into a Michael Jackson party?  What if you don't even like his music.  Will you get pressure from your guest to play his music?  Remember, this is your wedding but you want your family and guest to have a good time.  Let your wedding DJ handle  this on your wedding day.  He will  take care of your guest and play just the right amount of MJ's music. Just let the night flow and all will be fine.

I finally got to attend a wedding and didn't have to work.  I had a great time and danced with my family.  The whole reception was great and all the events where done perfectly.   If your dj has speakers on stands or hung in the air, you loose all the bass and the music is not strong enough on the dance floor.  You want to feel the bass when your dancing and it sounds so much better.  You wedding MC should not be up in the DJ booth away from the dance floor. Your entertainer should be right next to the dance floor so he can be very interactive with the guest. I felt  I need to keep the tempo up on the dance floor so I ended up leading the chicken dance.  The  guest loved it and  I always enjoy entertaining at a wedding.  I couldn't help myself.

Times are changing again.   I have redone the sponsorship model so you can try it and see for yourself how  internet radio can get  you more business. All the mini blogs (facebook ect) are really starting to drive traffic now to the podcast world. The audio is now easy to hear and right on the front page of these mini blogs. Since I started to post my shows on facebook,  more  and  more vendors have contacted me to record shows and find aout more about podcasting and internet radio. To give everyone a chance to try it, i have changed the sponsorship to only a two month commitment.  If you don't see a difference, you loose nothing.  I will prove to you that social networking with internet radio is the way to go!!!!!  Have a smart phone?  (palm pre, iphone) All my podcast can be heard there as well.  Give it a try!

Behind The wedding Mic is the only wedding podcast that talks directly about wedding entertainment.  The site is targeted to brides looking for wedding entertainment for their wedding day.

Sponsorship

Behind The wedding Mic is currently offering one sponsorship model.  A full 20 to 30 min. podcast for listeners to  hear about your services.  You can speak directly to the brides on my program .  This is a sure fire way for brides to hear about your services directly from you.  The selection of  wedding entertainment for their special day is hard enough to find at a bridal show with all the other vendors in the same room.  This way she can hear all your thoughts about how you can make her day like no other. Facebook, friendfeed and twitter have all gone main stream now and more brides are finding the podcast.  Be on the ground floor to get more business through internet radio.

Pricing for the sponsorship unit is currently only $50 (25.00 per month) and a banner will be posted  on the top of the show blog post for two months after the air date and  get  a plug for your service when we go live.

If you would like to receive a written proposal with all the details, please feel free to e-mail me at David@tunesentertainment.com

What a bridal show we had!!!!! It was  great to get back into  the thick of the market again.  I spoke to many brides about how to select your wedding entertainment. We had so much fun sharing ideas  and getting a feel for what the brides are looking for. There was so much to see and do from the cakes to the fashion show.  You owe it to yourself to attend one of these events and get all the information you can.

I also interviewed a few vendors to see how they were relating to brides.  On today's show I will play an interview with Nick of Nick Corona Photography.  click on the link to visit his website.  Please let him know that you heard him here on the show. Nick Corona Photography

I saw a DJ at an event last week.  The music was perfect for the guest who  came to say goodbye to the guest of honor.   There was just a few things that were not up to par.   I know the person was probably not a pro and doing this as a favor for the family.  Still there always things that need to be done right and  are not acceptable at a wedding at even  at the free price. Come and listen to the show as we cover a few things.

Should you have games at your wedding?  Should we call them games?  I like to call them interacting with your guest.  You can have tons of fun with your guest at  your wedding.   I know we try to make weddings formal and very proper but remember you are celebrating your day of a promise made  with the one you love and it's a party! The interaction you choose makes your guest feel involved in the party and celebration.  They really want to be involved and this gives them an opportunity to join in.

Hello,  Behind The Wedding Mic Backstage Pass  is now available for Download.  This is a conference call  I made while was on the road.  This is great information about some weddings that were on 7-7-07.  There is a very important tip at the end of the show.  If you are planning a wedding this year, this will be worth the show fee.  Remember if you feel you have not learned anything from my show, there is a money back guarantee at the end of one year.  All you would have to do is call me and write a post on the blog page telling everyone why the show didn't benefit  you and that you would like a full refund.   That's it.  What do you have to loose?

Thanks for all your support

When is a band a live band?   I went to a party and they were playing along with a sequencer or a more common name for  this  is a drum machine.  Is this really live then? Would a DJ do a better job?  Did the people dancing care?  Would you like to have this at your wedding?  This question has been around forever.  Wedding Entertainers,DJs,Bands,  which one is best for your wedding reception is up to you.  Be sure to ask all the questions when you are shopping around for wedding entertainment.

I spent all of last week at the Mobile Beat convention in Las
Vegas.  This is where I get to talk with Wedding Entertainers from all over the the country about new ideas for weddings.  I had an idea to record some  round table conversations  for a podcast about weddings but there s just wasn't enough time to do it.  We had tons of  sessions and meetings about entertainment and by the end of the day, we just  had enough time to have some small talk over dinner.  I will be posting a round table wedding podcast show in the near future.  This will be strictly wedding entertainers talking about weddings.  I'm not sure if this will be a separate show or not so stay in touch with this feed.  I did so much talking at the convention I got a sore throat and it hurts to talk.  Well that's what my friends say.  I just got sick and I was out of it for a while.  I started to record a show and it was just to painful so I decided to put it off until next week.

On Today's show I will talk about what options you have for your grand entrance and your toast.  There has been a lot of talk about what should be said during the toast.  Is this a time for stories? Or is it the proper place just to say congratulations to the bride and groom.   You can do both if you plan it correctly with your wedding entertainer.

When family and friends give their speeches, they tend to shy away from the microphone and can't be heard by everyone.   One solution is to put the microphone on a stand.  Ask your entertainer what type of microphone he will be using at your event.

I have performed at many events with live music.  There is something to be said about live music at your wedding.  Your are trying to create different moods at your event.  The soft feeling of you and your husband walking down the center of the church and all of your guest turning as you walk past them.  The music should be soothing to the ear and full of feeling.  When I hear a guitar, that's the feeling I get.  Ceremony music can very personalized to fit your needs.  There is no set rule that says you have to play the wedding march.  You have lots of choices  and a wedding professional can you help you select your own style.  Let's ask Philippo Franchini about how he performs at weddings and what it takes to give his clients that specail touch. You can get more information about him at philippomusic.com.

I will be posting some music  that I play at my events.  I have still have not found  a better way to get music then just buying the cd.  The downloading of music is still not perfect or  as easy as it should be.  If you download a song from itunes you are stuck with that format and you can't transfer it.  The best way  is to  just buy the cd and let itunes rip it  for you into a mp3 file and then  put your cd on the shelf for safe keeping.  Now you have  a file that can go anywhere.  You can load it to any device that can play mp3's, even a cell phone.   Your computer can crash, drop your cell phone and kill your mp3 player and still have a perfect copy of your music on your shelf safe at home.  Remember that a cd is a better copy of the music then any mp3.  I will cover more of these types of topics in my new show(weddings in the computer age). The first show will post in Jan. 2007

Just a DJ for your wedding?  You need an wedding entertainer for your special day.   Times have changed over the past ten years.  Remember when you would go to your family weddings?  You would see everyone and sit at the table quietly and wait for the bride and groom to walk in.  There are no anoucements and no music and nobody knows whats going on.  You have a great dinner and a piece of cake.  You suddenly see  a young man walking in carrying a big speaker and a load of records.  Behind him is another young man carring another heffty load of records.  Next walk in two young ladies dressed to kill with a beer in each hand.  Who are these people your ask yourself.  After  running around and plugging stuff in, your hear in a very muffled voice " can we do the first dance now?"   The music begins and is so loud and distorted it makes you cover your ears.  The first dance is over and you now hear the muffled voice say," could we have the house lights turned down so we can show off are lights? "   The music starts to blare and the house lights go off.  This is where your mom and dad get up and tell you its time to go home.  The older adults  leave and all you have left is a bad copy of studio 54.  This is not what a wedding is all about.   There is a better way. A wedding entertainer is what you need. Lets speak with Mark Thomas owner of   Awsome Entertainement and find out what it take to be a wedding entertainer.

The music is what makes a wedding great.  The ceremony is the place to start. Are you having a string quartet?  How about a soloist?  Maybe you will using the church organ.  Do you need a sound system? What songs are you going to choose. We  will discuss the choices you have with Laura Bradley.

An interview with Andre M. Caberte of the group Bits n' Pieces.  We had a great time at the wedding. Can wedding entertainers and live bands work together?  who will intoduce the bridal party?  How about the first dance? Do you want the song from the cd, or can the band perform it for you.  The truth is both can work for you if you plan ahead.  The real winners are your guest who can be fully entertained by your performers.

Weddings can be made simple or full of events for your guest to enjoy.  The fact is that they will both work.  You have to decide what's best for you and your guest.  I have performed at both styles of weddings and have seen  everyone have a great time.  The planing is what's needed to make sure both types will work.  For instance, who will do the introductions?  The band leader?  The Wedding entertainer? How about the first dance?

I will post a podcast soon with some interviews and we will ask some  pro's what they think.
